Learning Assessment Strategies
EPISODE 1
MY ASSESSMENT LIST
|
My Target
At
the end of this activity, you will be competent in identifying and naming
different assessment methods used in the classroom.
My Task
·
Observe at least three classes and
make a list of the assessment methods used by teachers.
·
In my list, classify assessment
methods as to conventional and authentic and alternative.
·
Describe how each assessment method
was used, including my personal observations.
·
Confer with my FS teacher for the
assessment list.
·
Reflect on my experience.
My Tools
As you visit
schools and observe assessment practices in at least three classes, document
your observations using the activity forms provided for you in this reference.
For your pen-and-paper test items, customize a table of specification, and
prepare the test material based on the prescriptions of the school where you do
class observation.

Analysis
1.
Was there a variety of assessment
methods used by the teacher? How relevant was/were the assessment method/s
used?
Yes there was a validity of assessment
methods for the teachers applied different methods in assessing their students.
The assessment methods used were relevant with
the learning objectives and they are applied properly.
2.
Do you think the expected students’
learning behaviours indicated in the objectives were properly and appropriately
assessed through those assessment methods?
Yes, because the teacher applied the
different assessment methods fairly with its validity and alignment with the
learning targets.
My Reflections
Assessment is a
need in education.Through this, teachers would be able to assess their selves
if they really attained their learning targets. It is also a big help to them,
because they would be able to know their students strengths and weaknesses.

Analysis
1.
Do you think the teacher’s learning
objectives was appropriately assessed by your test items?
Yes, because the
test items used to assess the students is correlated to the teacher’s learning
objectives and test items was equally divided with different domains of
learning.
2.
Why do you have to study the teacher’s
learning objectives prior to developing an assessment tool?
Because the assessment tool to be
develop will always depend on the set learning objective and should always be
associated with them. This will enable us to choose the appropriate assessment
toolsto be use and it helpus to have better understanding on how they will be
applied.
Reflection
Write your
personal reflection of thoughts and feelings regarding Peace Concept on Focus.
Share your reflection with your FS teacher and classmates.
EQUALITY in education can
lead a peaceful and better learning process. As the students to their best
while they are being assess, teachers must have fair and appropriate way of
assessing them. They should always consider the learning the targets and the
assessment tools to be used.
And
as a future educator it is not a challenge for me but an OPPORTUNITY. That I
should not only teach and make sure that my students understand the topic but
it is an opportunity to show my love and respect to them, through exercising
EQUALITY in all circumstances.
EPISODE 3
LOG ME
|
My Target
At the end of this activity, you
will be informed on the principles of authentic assessment and its usefulness
in the classroom.
My Task
Authentic
assessment is an alternative way of assessing students’ learning to be able to
use it, you must have a deep understanding of it. To help you reach your goal,
do the following task:
1.
Visit a classroom and interview the
teacher on his/her experiences in using authentic assessment.
2.
Describe how the teacher uses the
authentic assessment.
3.
Write a reflective journal on the
activity.
My Tools
For this learning
activity, please document the information gathered from the interview with the
teacher on authentic assessment. Write your documentation using the activity
form provided for you.
MY INTERVIEW
NOTES
his subject matter
requires different skills to be learned. So as a teacher I choose to apply
the authentic assessment. Because through this my students will have an
experience in real world environment. They learn as they put it into action
the given task to them.
|
1. What is Authentic
Assessment?
This is the assessment that
concentrates in the existence of fact and deals with sensibility. This means
that this assessment focuses on the application of task in real world setting. Authentic assessments,
students are given tasks to perform that have applications in real life rather
than just selecting an answer, as is the case on a standardized test
2. How was authentic
assessment used? Was it used to measure learning through the product?
The
teacher used authentic assessment by letting his students make their own
garden. The students cultivate the soil and plant seed. They are the one who
experience or put into action the task had given to them. Yes it was used
to measure learning through the product.
