My Target
            At the end of this activity, you will be informed on the principles of authentic assessment and its usefulness in the classroom.

My Task
            Authentic assessment is an alternative way of assessing students’ learning to be able to use it, you must have a deep understanding of it. To help you reach your goal, do the following task:
1.       Visit a classroom and interview the teacher on his/her experiences in using authentic assessment.
2.       Describe how the teacher uses the authentic assessment.
3.       Write a reflective journal on the activity.

This subject matter requires different skills to be learned. So as a teacher I choose to apply the authentic assessment. Because through this my students will have an experience in real world environment. They learn as they put it into action the given task to them.





































Analysis


1.       What is Authentic Assessment?

This is the assessment that concentrates in the existence of fact and deals with sensibility. This means that this assessment focuses on the application of task in real world setting. Authentic assessments, students are given tasks to perform that have applications in real life rather than just selecting an answer, as is the case on a standardized test



2.       How was authentic assessment used? Was it used to measure learning through the product?

The teacher used authentic assessment by letting his students make their own garden. The students cultivate the soil and plant seed. They are the one who experience or put into action the task had given to them. Yes it was used to measure learning through the product.



Reflection

What are your insights and feelings about the use of authentic assessment?

For me the application of authentic assessment is one of the best ways in assessing the students, because through this they can relate much they are the one directly do the action.

How did you feel about the teacher’s experience in the use of authentic assessment?

I feel great because I am now more knowledgeable on how authentic assessment can be applied and on how it contribute to the development of one’s life, for its gives true to life experience.

What could be the gains of the students and teachers in using authentic assessment?


Authentic assessment can give the teacher more direct evidence about how the student arrives at an answer and takes some of the guesswork out of trying to understand how much a student has really learned. And it allows students to find a way to demonstrate their knowledge that best suits them.



Which part of the teacher’s use of authentic assessment do you feel like improving or revising?

The teacher should put an innovation on using authentic assessment, which still provides learning to all the students. Ensuring the fairness to all the students to be assess.
